Neil F. Schiff, M.D., is a board-certified otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon who has served patients across Connecticut for nearly three decades. A native of Connecticut, Dr. Schiff earned his bachelor’s degree Cum Laude from Dartmouth College before pursuing his medical training in Boston, Massachusetts, bringing both academic distinction and a deep connection to the region to his practice. Dr. Schiff offers specialized expertise across a broad range of complex ENT and surgical disciplines, including advanced endoscopic sinus surgery, microscopic ear surgery, thyroid and facial cancer surgery, sleep apnea surgery, and pediatric ENT, with additional proficiency in managing environmental allergies.

Dr. Schiff received his Medical Doctorate from Tufts University School of Medicine, one of New England’s most respected medical institutions. He then completed his General Surgery internship at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boston before finishing his residency in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at The New England Medical Center in Boston in 1996. This comprehensive surgical training, conducted at leading academic medical centers in the heart of one of the country’s premier medical communities, gave Dr. Schiff a strong foundation in both the medical and operative management of ear, nose, and throat conditions across all age groups.

Following the completion of his training, Dr. Schiff returned to his home state of Connecticut to establish his practice, reflecting his longstanding commitment to the communities in which he grew up. He has been board-certified in Otolaryngology since 1997, a credential that underscores his expertise and dedication to maintaining the highest standards of specialty care throughout his career.

Dr. Schiff brings particular expertise to a wide range of complex ENT conditions and surgical procedures. He is skilled in advanced endoscopic sinus surgery, including minimally invasive techniques and balloon sinuplasty for patients suffering from chronic sinusitis and nasal obstruction. His surgical proficiency extends to microscopic surgery for chronic ear disease, voice disorders, and thyroid surgery, as well as facial cancer surgery and surgery for sleep apnea. He also has extensive experience in pediatric ENT surgery and the comprehensive management of environmental allergies, allowing him to serve patients from childhood through adulthood with the same level of attentive, individualized care.

Dr. Schiff has been named a Top Doctor in Connecticut Magazine every year for the past 2 decades. He is a two-time president of the Waterbury Medical Association (in 2000 and 2020) and has been a WMA executive committee member since 1997. Dr. Schiff has privileges at Waterbury Hospital, Saint Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury Surgical Center, and Naugatuck Valley Surgical Center.

Throughout his career, Dr. Schiff has remained committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care that combines the latest surgical techniques with a thorough understanding of each patient’s unique needs. His ties to Connecticut, both personal and professional, continue to drive his dedication to improving the health and quality of life of the patients and families he serves.
