Hybrid Remote Audiology Service

Naugatuck Valley ENT is now offering our Hybrid Remote Audiology service, powered by MaestroAuD™. The audiology exam takes place in the office, supported by one of our care team members, while the licensed audiologist is at a remote location. This service provides a trusted approach to hearing care that meets the same clinical standards as traditional in-person testing. Naugatuck Valley ENT is one of the only clinics in the region to offer Hybrid Remote Audiology, a modern, patient-focused approach to hearing care.

Hybrid Remote Audiology

Key Aspects of Hybrid Remote Audiology

  • All diagnostic equipment is calibrated for accuracy.
  • The remote audiologist is fully licensed and trained in remote care delivery.
  • Sessions are private and secure, using encrypted, HIPAA-compliant technology.
  • Patients have time to ask questions and receive results, similar to traditional appointments.
  • The service aims to make expert hearing care easier and faster without compromising quality.

Hybrid Remote Audiology Benefits

We’ve introduced this service for one simple reason: to make it easier and faster for you to get expert hearing care without compromising quality. With Hybrid Remote Audiology, you’re still receiving a full diagnostic hearing evaluation—right here in the clinic—supported by our trained onsite team and performed by a fully-licensed audiologist in real time. This allows for:

  • Faster appointments.
  • Reduced wait times for testing and results.
  • Maintenance of high clinical standards.
  • Uninterrupted access to experienced audiologists.

It’s the same personalized care—just with the added convenience and access of remote expertise.

What You Can Expect at Your Appointment

You may notice that today’s visit looks a little different—your audiologist is joining you remotely using secure, real-time video and diagnostic technology.

During the exam:

  • Your exam takes place right in the clinic, using the same professional equipment we’ve always used.
  • A licensed audiologist appears on screen to guide the visit and conduct testing remotely.
  • A trained member of our team is in the room to assist and ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Your results are reviewed and explained promptly, and your ENT provider is notified as needed.

Navigating Treatments for Sensorineural Hearing Loss in Prospect, CT

Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL) occurs when the tiny hair cells in the cochlea or the auditory nerve are damaged. These hair cells are crucial for converting sound waves into neural signals, which are then transmitted to the brain. When these cells or the auditory nerve are compromised, the sound energy that reaches the cochlea cannot be effectively converted, leading to hearing loss.
